Abstract
This document specifies the quality, safety requirements and test methods for Poria cocos sclerotium that is derived from Poria cocos (Schw.) Wolf, including general characteristics, morphological features, identifications, moisture, total ash, ethanol-soluble extractives, content of marker compounds, heavy metals, pesticide residues, and sulfur dioxide. This document applies to Poria cocos sclerotium that are sold and used as natural medicines in international trade, including Chinese materia medica and decoction pieces.
